Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Engineer Shaukatullah launched Spring Tree Plantation campaign in FATA by planting a sapling of Chir at Governor's House, Peshawar on Monday morning. Additional Chief Secretary, FATA, Arbab Muhammad Arif was also present on this occasion, besides senior officials of the FATA Forest Department.
It was told on this occasion that 3.5 million saplings of different kinds have been planned to be planted throughout FATA out of which three millions will be planted by the FATA department itself while the rest of the 0.5 millions have been envisaged to be planted through other various nation building departments and organizations, besides the personnel of security forces, students of educational institutions and the public at large.
Meanwhile, the Governor also formally inaugurated a newly renovated peasantry at the Governor's House wherein ten new species of rare birds have been placed under the auspices of the FATA Forest and Wildlife Department. Talking to Mr. Sher Nawaz Khan, Conservator Forests, FATA the Governor desired to release the extra birds on becoming surplus in various national parks.
